Tess always makes her classes challenging – but fun. So much thought goes into the programme and she manages to make it work for everyone in the room. I’ve been attending Tess’ classes and workshops for years and always look forward to them – whether it’s a mindful Yogalates class, or an outdoor fitness session in all weathers – there is always lots of laughter, alongside a great workout. I have been going to Pilates Plus sessions for nearly 10 years, initially in-person classes after work in Edinburgh and subsequently via Zoom after the pandemic started. As a keen cyclist, I want to complement my aerobic fitness by improving and maintaining my core as well as my strength since cycling is not weight bearing. Not only has Tess achieved that but I have started running again after a 10-year gap, finishing my first of several half-marathons, including The Great North Run, in c2hours, which I largely attribute to her sessions. Tess talks us through different routines each week, varying the focus from one area to another. She is full of energy, fun and offers variation of exercises to suit different levels. Tess is a great communicator, very attentive and an outstanding teacher. I wholeheartedly recommend her classes to anyone looking to build strength, improve mobility and feel better physically and mentally.
I can’t speak highly enough of Tessa’s Pilates classes. I’ve been attending her classes for many many years – whether it’s been postnatal classes, barre, outdoor boot camps or one-on-one reformer. I find Tess’ classes energetic, varied and always uplifting. Her expertise as a Pilates/barre/yoga teacher allows us to develop strength, flexibility and balance, while her physio knowledge is a particular benefit in giving advice and making individual adjustments while we work on different muscle groups. I have been attending the outdoor classes for a few years now and absolutely love it, it is a positive part of my week and I look forward to going, no matter the weather, Tess brings her energetic and motivational self each week putting us through our paces all with a friendly smile. Tess is a fantastic Pilates instructor and physiotherapist. I have regularly attended her classes for years, including Pilates, Yogalates and postnatal Pilates/barre. Tess’s classes are fun, with lots of variety and a good amount of challenge. Tess gives great feedback and adjustments, even during online classes. The support and community through her postnatal classes were incredible – they were one of the highlights of our week during maternity leave. I also went to Tess after injuring my wrist and she helped me recover so that I could return to my usual exercise routine.

Tess, Reformer & Pilates have fixed me. I was suffering with chronic, debilitating sciatica pain & on a cocktail of pain medication. I have been attending Tess’ Pilates classes for 11 years and began Barre, Yoga and Yogalates as she introduced them into her schedule. Classes are challenging, fun, varied and even after 11 years, I am still motivated, eager and excited for each and every class, I hate if I have to miss one. Tess is such a warm, knowledgeable, experienced and supportive teacher who creates a safe environment in class from which friendships have evolved.
When I was pregnant, I had severe PGP, which unfortunately lingered postpartum and caused a lot of pain. Tessa’s Pilates classes and private reformer sessions have changed my life. I am stronger now and pain-free. I do not know where I would be without her. She accommodates or modifies the sessions to my needs. She is supportive, knowledgeable and kind, and I look forward to her sessions weekly.
